A Dark Wars Tale
Edgar Laetham had enough. He had spent enough time shedding blood and losing friends for Queen and country. A chance encounter with an old friend from Australia while recovering from a wound in Bahrain a year after the First Gulf War sent his life on a different path. How different he would not know until one fateful, rain-soaked day while driving his new charge through the streets of Harrow. After that day, he knew life with Dame Alice Spencer-Killdare would never be the same. Or boring!
An Australian schoolboy discovers he can move small objects with his mind. His family moves to Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA and he uses his special skill to 'win' money at casinos. His exceptional skills at winning bring him some unwanted attention from some people, including the Department of Homeland Security. He objects to their actions and soon a state of war exists between his family and the DHS (and the people behind them). The odds are heavily in favour of one side - but which side?
A decade ago, a mysterious tower appeared between two apartment buildings on Central Park West in New York City. Its appearance touched off a series of debates and investigations as to how and where the tower came from. With the new building came a set of very odd features. Such as people with histories already living in the tower. Every storm that came through the area seemed attracted to it. Then there were the dead bodies. One hundred twenty-three so far. This is the story of the Storm Tower.
Raisa Felfan’s life is comfortable. She spends her days working in her family’s diner and flirting with the gorgeous man next door. She suddenly finds herself in an uncomfortable situation as the local Russian mob boss decides to make her his mistress against her will. Kris Lawson owns and operates the flower shop next door. As a semi-retired government operative, Kris claims Raisa as his and sets out to show the mobster just why you don’t take what’s his.
Part 1: When Cindy storms out the door she throws her ring back at Jerry and tells him to give it away. She gives him back her love for him and tells him to just give it away. Sounds like a marriage in trouble! Part 2: Jerry's wife, Cindy, told him to "give it away," he couldn't. Would she ever come to him and ask him to "give it back?"
The world of Darvin Carpenter, a PI in Albuquerque, NM
This is actually the second Carpenter novel, but it's the first which is available for me to post. This is the first visit of the Carpenters to Red Hawk since Darvin left Red Hawk back in the 80s. It ties in with a short story called "Ghost," which I'm also posting so you can get the background of this novel. Also, because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback from The Chief, I'll be posting more chapters at a time. :)
