The World of the Am'mortal —
A Universe from the Mind of Celtic Bard
These stories all have their origin with the story titled The Doom of Immortality. It is a world where the Human race has warred its way into extinction and younger races have built upon the ashes of their failed civilization even as they are watch over by those few who remain as reminders of the elder race. Most of these stories can be read by themselves without even reading any of the others. However, reading the origin story will help you understand who the Am'mortal are, where they came from, and what their purpose in existence is. Clues to the history of The World of the Am'mortal can be gleaned by reading all of the stories, but they are not in chronological/historical order, simply in the order my muse inspired me.
This is a historical timeline of the important events in the history of The World of the Am'mortal Universe. I posted this mainly to help readers interested in the Universe to place the various stories in their historical context since most of the stories to be posted are not in chronological order.
NOTE-Story titles are in italics in the approximate time they took place. I will update it as stories are posted.
An overview of the peoples, nations, religion, and other facets of The World of the Am'mortal Universe. This is meant to flesh out the stories of the Universe and give better context to them.
Humanity is sprinting towards extinction in its never-ending blood feuds and wars. The Flame Lord, Creator of All, mournful of their contrariness, has decided to save them. Or at least some of them. The wise and forsightful few are gathered and await one last person to join their fateful ranks. But how will so few preserve Humanity?
This is the origin story of the World of the Am'mortal Universe
Humanity has seen its end and the Gods have spoken to the last one hundred sorcerers and seers, witches and magi, healers and priests who were wise enough to see the end and flee it. But now they have been doomed to immortality by the Father of the Universe who cannot bear the idea of letting go of all Humans. The wisest of them leaves the rest to find solitude and meditate on eternity. But what will he find as he searches his soul for answers? NOTE: Sequel to "The Doom of Immortality"
Following a protracted war, an island switches hands from one race to another. As the new owners take over, the island seems to come with some oddities, including a story about a shipwrecked man of the new owners' race. One problem: they know this man does not exactly match their description. So the story soon turns into a popular and well-liked legend, especially to a bright-eyed young farm girl gaining reknown as a huntress. Can she find the "Wild Man" on her latest trip into the wilderness?
More than a century ago Akikara the Am'mortal saved a lone Peisti girl from the wilds of the island and marked her as his. Now, invaders have come and with them they have brought atrocities that demand retribution that only immortal fury can bring. And that fury will carry his warning to all and sundry: The House of Akikara shall be inviolate. Note-Reading The Blue Man will make following this story easier. The Doom of Immortality would also help, but is not required to enjoy this story.
