After their harrowing trials on Black Star, Ryan and Eclair return home to the Fire Ministry. Ryan puts aside his feelings for Eclair to train with Zanderius Alastar, the Prime Minister of Elemency. His goal, to attain ultimate power in order to finally defeat the Dark Dragon Lord and avenge his family. Meanwhile, on the distant planet of Atlantis, home of the Merfolk, a sinister plot is underway that could spell dire consequences for the entire universe.

The work relates the tale of the young Arthur Gordon Pym, who stows away aboard a whaling ship called the Grampus. Various adventures and misadventures befall Pym, including shipwreck, mutiny, and cannibalism, before he is saved by the crew of the Jane Guy. Aboard this vessel, Pym and a sailor named Dirk Peters continue their adventures further south. Docking on land, they encounter hostile black-skinned natives before escaping back to the ocean.
