The warriors of Jade Force are trained from an early age in the martial arts, the history of wars, and the science of waging war. They are raised to see war as something brutal and inhumane. War is a matter of life and death, not a political game. It is to be taken seriously with acceptance of the full consequences of entering into armed conflict. They are unleashed upon a world that employs wars as casual moves on the landscape of international politics and believes that wars can be fought humanely.

Two Colonels meet weekly for lunch at a restaurant to discuss the history of war, the sad state of the current Vam War, and to speculate on how things could be done. It's all just idle speculation to pass the time, or is it?
Ten years have passed since the orphans arrived at the Jade Academy. There's a civil war brewing in Inra and the military thinks it can conscript a couple cadets to help out in the war effort.
The graduating cadets get their first contract. They are tasked with ending a civil war in Kale. A lowly officer in the pathetic Kale Air Force shows that sometimes spirit counts as much as training.
There have been a rash of kidnappings of businessmen visiting the country of Teal. Jade Force, seeing an opportunity to replenish the war chest, takes on the gang of kidnappers.
Amra is involved in a 'War on Drugs' in Tobo. Years have passed and the drug problem isn't getting any better. Jade Force is hired to be the scapegoat for any missions that fail to go off like planned.
The world has lots of water with ships transporting goods from one place to another. With so much shipping piracy can easily become a major international problem. Cartoom has become home to a major nest of pirates. Jade Force is called upon to end the problem.
The ugliness of war isn't constrained to the fighting between the antagonists and protagonists. There are others caught up in a war, like the people who flee from the war zone and those who are tasked to take care of them. They may escape the fighting, but they are still touched by the ugliness of war.
Misera from its founding has not been stable. There a suppressed indigenous population and a repressed population controlled by a few selfish political types. A civil war erupts. The government hires Jade Force to put down the rebellion so that Jade Force can kill off the protesters. Blame is easy to deflect - it wasn't us, it was Jade Force who massacred the crowd in the square.
The Sumar refugees are still living in the refugee camp. The end of the Sumar/Desera war is nowhere in sight. It is time for them to be looking ahead to the future. An uncertain future is offered to them by Jade Force. Will they take it?
The Sumar/Desera War is heating up. More refugees are fleeing the war zone and Jade Force remains responsible for them. Someone has to end the war and who better than Jade Force.
The International Federation of Nations just had to do it. A committee on War Crimes declared Pen Sada a war criminal. When Jade Force and the nation of Misera won't turn her over for trial, there's only one thing the IFN can do, and that is to declare war on Misera.
The IFN has been defeated on the continent of Surprise. This does not mean the war is over. The IFN starts staging troops on the continent of Eastland in preparation for an invasion of Surprise. The Jade Empire doesn't believe in letting an enemy get prepared or organized well enough to fight.
The war is over as far as the major powers are concerned. They packed up their toys and went home satisfied that they gave it their best shot. There's only one problem - no one told the Jade Empire that the war is over and they are rather insistent that the losers surrender and pay reparations.
