Once again a story from the past rises up and convinces me I need to tell people about it. It is a series of episodes, but they combine well and tell a lot about the hero, the "desperado" of the title.
The plot is very good, I give it an eight, which is an A as I rate things. I didn't see any technical problems, but nobody is perfect, not even me, so I will give this story a nine, an A plus. Appeal to reviewer is another eight. Its not a nine because its too short and I would have preferred to learn more how the hero survived and thrived. And it ends with the hero's death, not an approach I want to encourage authors to follow.
I only give one ten a month, most of the time, but that doesn't mean I don't recommend the story wholeheartedly for your amusement and edification. It is part of a series of stories that probably would be worth your while, about different characters in the old west.
