Final 11 chapters have been sent to the queue.
Endings are interesting, writing them is problematic. This story leaves our characters in a good place, I think. Readers will have a chance to weigh in on that :-)
Human Man is the last novel in the Man series. I won't rule out a future short story or novella, but that's not happening any time soon. I have other projects to work on. If I had it to do all over again, I'd break Human Phoenix into two novels and restructure the plot. Someday, maybe.
Thanks to everyone who read and enjoyed the story. I had a blast writing it.
Our story ends next week. Yes, that's Super Bowl Sunday. I'll hopefully remember to find an internet connection and submit the last ten chapters.
Enjoy this week's taste.
Chapters 22 ~ 16 have been sent to the queue.
There are now only two Sundays left on the story. I was going to stretch it for three, but have decided the final posting will be double length.
This is the last of what I think of as the 'setup' chapters and breaks at a fun point. From 21 on, I think it's an enjoyable romp to the ending.
To answer a few questions about Levall, NTSU, and their use in both Human Man and Island Mine. ( http://finestories.com/s/10695 )
The idea for the fictional city of Levall and the university came while I was finishing Human Phoenix. I planned at that point to use it in the sequel, but decided to flesh out the idea while writing Island Mine. While the setting is the same, Human Man and Island Mine are in different 'realities.'
I'll be posting new chapters every Sunday until the end.
When will that be?
There are 43 total chapters, so figure either 5 or 6 weeks left. I haven't decided how I'm going to break up the final batch of chapters.
