"A Stranger in an Even Stranger Land" Feedback Response

Posted at Updated:

I want to thank those of you who have sent such glowing feedback on "A Stranger in an Even Stranger Land." Many were wondering if this is the opening of a larger story and if you read my last entry you will see that that is indeed the jumping off point of the character Josef Samuelson in a series of novels I am working on. I have yet to publish them and given the feedback on this site and its sister, as well as those people in my life with whom I have shared them, I may have to bestir myself to begin the long, arduous process of trying to get published. Most of the rest of the stories in that Universe are either vignettes I wrote that have nothing to do with the novels or will be tiny portions of the novels that I think can stand alone. The former is more likely than the later, as there are various side stories that have come to mind in the writing process that I have ignored in favor of finishing the main novels. Time and my muses will tell. I am also pretty engaged in writing on a few things for the Am'mortal Universe, so we will see.
So, again, thank you to those of you who have written me with responses to the two new posts. Encouragement and constructive criticism are always welcomed.

Couple of short ones submitted for posting

Still have not found the story I am looking for, it must be on an old computer. In looking for it, I found a couple of stories that are related to a series of novels I have written but not published yet. They will be the beginning of a new Universe that will be made up of short stories that are only related to the novels in that they take place in the same world. A word of warning for all who will read this new Universe. I will be using very ethnic names for many of the characters. This means that many of the names have Germanic or Slavic or Celtic or some other pronunciation scheme. Examples of this are in the first two stories in the name Josef. I left an end note in the story "A Stranger in an Even Stranger Land" but I will repeat it here. Josef is not pronounced "Jo-sef" but "Yo-zef" with the "o" being long like "go" and the "e" being short like "get." Similar ethnic pronunciations will be used in these stories and some of them can be difficult, especially the Celtic names. I may, if I get enough e-mail on it, make a pronunciation guide but I hope readers are internet savy enough and interested enough to look them up for themselves. Such name pronunciation guides should be findable online, as that is where I got some of mine.
So, that is what I have coming up in the next day or so as far as postings. Both new stories in the new Universe are submitted and you can expect them soon. Enjoy and don't forget to vote. And as always, I welcome constructive input.

I am still working on a few stories, so they will be a while in posting. I will, however, be reposting both "Timeline" and "World" because I have been adding to "World" and adding a few minor things here and there to both as I was working on the new sections of "World." That should be finished in the next few days. I am also thinking of posting an older piece I wrote a while back, if I can find it, and finish up the second part of it that has been unfinished on the shelf for a while.
Anyway, that is what is going on behind the scenes here with Celtic Bard. Your patience is appreciated and your input welcomed.

The Wanderer, Part II is finally here!

OK, folks, it is finally here! Work has slowed down and writer's block broken. I have finally finished the second half of Wanderer and started on another project in the Universe. I have two or three things on my plate right now, so I don't know which will finish first or when that will be. It has been submitted to the webmaster, so enjoy the ending of "The Wanderer" and I apologize for the long wait.

Writer's Block and a different project

Update time and I am sorry it has taken so long. I got writer's block shortly after finishing the first half of "The Wanderer." Then I got really busy in real life. Then<i/> I wound up getting inspired to finish a project I had on the shelf that I have been putting off. The upshot of all that is to say that there is a reason I have not posted the second half yet. Hopefully with inspiration returned I can finish "The Wanderer" soon and get it posted.
