Introduction

Human Phoenix was my first attempt to write a book. It was something I'd thought about for years, but never had the courage to try. The book suffers many of the typical first effort maladies, but people still enjoy the story. Often, the early books of writers are set aside, never to see the light of day. These are called 'trunk novels.' They either don't meet the writer's standards or never found the right agent/publisher.

With the rise of viable self publishing, and sites like this, these efforts no longer need to be hidden away. That may or may not be such a good thing. ☺
