Chapter 4
Flight to the Emerald Isle
Thought safe from Frankish foes
In the Land of Eire
Love did follow the Man of Fate
From the shores of Darkness to the Land of Light.
But though the Dragonmage was vigilant
Minions did seek blood
And victory for their Masters
Scheming from the depths of Niflheim.
A priest of night, vampire of power
Was sent forth under the guise of aid
To the sire of Love
In hopes that wounds of torment could heal.
With simple effort was the sire made whole
And the true mission of Darkness taken up
The assassination of Destiny
And the focus of Love.
In the dungeons of Tralee
Did the Man of Fate
Once more rage
And his power brought the priest low.
From the dungeons did they go
To the caverns of Dwannish
Companions true and faithful
And Love's warmth did follow.
Foes uncounted did mass
As Fate's instrument did flee
Through portals of Magik
On the holy Shannon.
To the seat of Power
High upon the Hill of Tara
Eiren fled the Darkness
With companions and Love accompanied.
But upon Tara Hill
Before witnesses royal
Would the Man of Fate be challenged
And brought low by he of burning skin.
With dying breath and waning rage
Eiren would exact revenge
Slaying the Minion of Darkness
Before his first, last, and only Love.
As the Emerald Isle would mourn
A Siren call issued forth
Summoning those of the Blood
To the Isle of Eire.
And even as Love would mourn
The loss of Destiny
Others did puzzle
Why does the shade not ascend?
As those of the Blood gathered and Darkness rose
The resurrection of Life was achieved
By the Eternal Man of Fate
In a Time of Heroes and Magik!
