Chapter 6
1600 Friday 20 January Jackson
The tailor prodded me, measured, and weighed me more than the uniform fitting before the Presidential Medal Ceremony. The tailor said my fitting with him was complete. The MGen left word to dress for work. My Valet, Drover laid out clothes then asked if I needed anything else. No, I replied and Thank-You Drover.
Mom said she was not our maid and to pick up after ourselves, how will she react to us having a person to pick up after us and I laughed at that thought.
I was the last to arrive downstairs and my brothers were waiting. Alex said we thought you might just skip the meeting and lounge in your room as staff brought you food, and the other Two laughed at the comments.
Raleigh said gentleman your vehicle is here. As our Valets brought our coats and helped us into them, we heard Mrs. Ruth say, “Gentleman remember your station.” We exited the door to an SUV that had suicide doors and the passenger seats faced each other.
A voice holding open the passenger door said Sirs, I am Thompson, 5th Chauffeur, and your driver at this time. I will be available to return you to the house by1800. If the meeting ends early, the office staff will inform me of the new time. We buckled up and were off. I enjoyed the ride.
Fifteen minutes later we were back at the headquarters building and used the courtyard elevator and stairway to go to the ninth floor. We got off into a marble clad room with gold leaf carvings in the wall. Col. Fox, like us in dressed in Wolverine Clan Industries Inc. Supervisor Orange Polos and khaki, met us at the elevator.
He directed us to the Sixteen office sections that made up the circle of the room. I saw identification labels on various reception desks blocking the door entering the office space. Just behind the reception desk to the left was a unisex bathroom to the right office equipment. Down the hallway were Six offices every Left/Right got larger as you walked down the hallway. The office at the end was a massive Forty by Eighty-foot office with private bath with shower to the Left and a private elevator and stairway to the ground floor to the Right.
The next inner offices were Forty by Forty feet and no privileged access to the ground floor.
Right away I took an inner office and left the expansive room for our unit’s conference room. I was not the only one to make this decision, all Senior Staff had done the same thing.
The 10th floor was the private floor of the CEO and allowed him to spy on those under him.
MGen Pierce planned to renovate it as a large banquet area to hold Company Sponsored Formal Dinners too big for the House Dining Room. He and Mrs. Pierce had office block #1, Mrs. Ruth office block #2, Wolverine Field Mayor- Byron Red Sky Nelson and Director Of Operations Wolverine Field-Yolanda Zulu had office block #3, Director Emergencies Services Wolverine Field-Dennis Simmons and Chief of Police Wolverine Field-Arthur William Smith had office block #4, Director of Wappinger Nation, Wolverine Field Facilities Dr Samuel Jackson Lafayette had office block #5, Director of Administration- Dr Naomie Tallman had office block #6, Director of Human Resources-Dr Lesia Richter had office block #7, Director of OSHA Compliance-Dr William Smith and Deputy Director Environmental Health and Safety Martinez Sanchez Davis had office block #8, Director of Accounting-Dr Jaa Zhan CPA had office block #9, Director of Public Relations Press Spokesman Danial Larson had office block #10, Director Supply and Logistics Jackson Andrew Davis had office block #11, Director Property Manager-Matthew Jenkins had office block #12A, Wolverine Clan Industries Inc. On the eighth floor and down to the ground floor were the offices of each subdivision of the ninth floor that were accessible from the elevators and stairs in our work room. Well, the Ninth floor was Six hundred-Forty feet in diameter, the Eighth floor Twelve Hundred Eighty feet in diameter. Whoever built this building had a huge ego and bank account to match. Now it was up to all of us who were associated with Wolverine Clan Industries to pick up the pieces and make all the parts work as they were supposed to.
I was in block #11 and the man I was rescuing, Ryan North was waiting with our Three Administrative Assistance and One Accountant. He stood and shook my hand.
Ryan
This is our staff: Senior Administrative Assistance Mrs. Margery Ballotine Roberts.
Administrative Assistance Mrs. Felicity Chambers Cook and Mrs. Detra Wolfe Kline. Our Senior, and only Accountant Tearence Brent Marshal.
I lifted a stack of papers here is the list of items we purchased since we took over. Lifting a second stack here are the original inventories. How complete they are we have not been able to check.
Lifting the last stack here is what we issued thou I know not everything issued by us we can account for.
We have an electronic scanning system at all issue points but few of them have a person responsible for that issue point.
As we were introducing ourselves and our workload. Johanna Warren and Sandra Lee walked into the room, Ryan added welcome to my pile that is growing bigger each day and not enough shovels to keep it moving.
Jack
All right team, here is what I propose we do, as I took out a Six hundred Double space Logistics Thesis, I and my brothers had been working on for Two years.
I was an assistant warehouse manager for an aircraft unit. Supply chain management is more than running a warehouse. Yes, sir I know, Logistic school and MALS 14 Dragons just gave me a small window into how logistics works. Material acquisition, moving, storing, distribution, and the constant control of the process is what makes life enjoyable.
I authored this paper, with my brothers help, in our spare time, as a PhD Thesis, on The History of Logistics and the Armed Forces of the United States and How Businesses Changed their Supply Chains Because of it. With chapters on: Pre-Civil War, Civil War, WWI, WWII, Cold War, Current Actions, Transportation of friendly and hostile personnel, Transportation of Wounded and Deceased personnel, Acquisition-Introduction-Maintenance-repair-Replacement of systems, vehicles, and Equipment, Historical and Current Surface Transportation, Historical and Current Water Transportation, and Historical and Current Air Transport. What businesses learned from the military example, what they should not have learned, what they should learned now, and how can we reeducate business to make it work better, faster, and cheaper. I brought Ten hard copies so everyone can have one.
