Chapter 35

2100 Monday 6 February Mart

After dinner us Advisors had decided to play a little music as we had not practiced lately, due to our required duties. We set up in the B1 Family Room that had the equipment to mix, record, and produce CD of the music recorded. We did not know what we were getting into. If we had, we would have done it anyway. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun also. It allowed us to support Toys For Tots and The Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation with several large donations.

Jeff on his Hawaiian Steel Guitar, Jackson his string base, BSX Bass Allegro 5- String Acoustic-Electric Upright Bass, Me my Keyboard, and Alex the Drums. Marcus on an Electric Guitar and Morris with a Mandolin joined us. After we had just started others showed up and asked to sit in. Lela a Base Guitar, Roseland and Janice brought Fiddles, Cassidy a Violin but could play a Fiddle, April Joy a viola. Christine and Sandra Lee sat at the Piano that was right of center on the stage. Lester and Eloise came with Coronets, Shenna a French Horn. Aleshia Jasmin an Oboe, Jennifer May a Flute. Johanna, Lillian, and Herald said they could sing. Elizabeth Anne, and Wynette Lee went to the sound room off to the left well Maybell started checking microphones.

It took only Fifteen minutes for Maybell to get us organized and Elizabeth Anne to make copies of the sheet music we had. We had Blue Grass, Texas Swing, and Forty s/ Fifties Country She added some Chamber Orchestra, Movie Scores and Contemporary pieces to it.

Maybell was our Producer, Wynette Lee ran the mixing board, and Elizabeth Anne our Director selecting music and assigning musical part. We played for Forty-Five minutes and when we finished, we had applause. Currahee Nations, Kariwase, Mrs. Ruth, Tim, Consuela, Alfred Harvey, his family, and many of the household staff had come to hear us play.

Mrs. Ruth said that she was adding an hour of music practice for each of us on our non-flight training days and a Two-hour session Sunday afternoon for all of us together. After we went to a Five-day work week, we could expect to put on a concert at least every other week. Also play for any special event The Wappinger Nation at MCAS Wolverine Field held. We would do a one-hour concert before the President s Speech. Those of us with duties would have our deputies cover for us when we played. Our morning PT session would be on TuThSa, no PT MWF. This will allow practice of The Wappinger Peoples Nation Musical Gathering on TuThSa nights from 2100 to 2200 until after the President s visit. Currahee Nations, Kariwase, Tim, Consuela, and Mrs. Ruth would select our pieces. Our Husband-and-Wife Band and Choir Directors Arron and Rebecca Chones will come in and direct. Maybell will remain the Producer, Wynette Lee and Elizabeth Anne running the mixing board. Elizabeth Anne will also be the Best Girl getting and taking care of the music sheet library.

Maybell said Wynette Lee and her had mixed everything as we played and each of us would have a copy of the performance sent to our inboxes by the time we went to our room.

Mrs. Ruth

It is 2155. I will extend curfew until 2230 but no further. Girls, take care of your instruments and get to your rooms. Elizabeth Anne, leave the sheet music where it is. I will arrange for a proper storage area tomorrow then you will become responsible for it. You can listen to tonight s music when you are in bed. Maybell, you will send it out then retire for the night. Good night. The girls and all the other Platoon members left talking as they went

Currahee Nations, Kariwase, Tim, Consuela, Sampson, and Alfred I wish to speak with you before you retire for the evening, please. Thirty minutes in Currahee Nations Office. It will take no more than Thirty minutes. Willow, Angella if you need to take your children home, I will insure your husbands are driven home in no more than Thirty minutes. They both replied they and the children would wait. They could listen to the music that was played, and they missed before arriving.

Currahee Nations

Yes, Thirty minutes, my office.

2230 Mrs. Ruth

This the Organizational Structure and Operation Standards of Procedures for the Systems Design, Development, and Deployment Platoon Headquarters Company, 13th DRCS Battalion, 13th Composite Division, United States Marine Corps Reserve.

It was written this afternoon with all members having input and all agree to follow it when it is officially implemented.

You should read now and make objections first thing in the morning. The officed authorizing date is 13 February but it will be the POD starting tomorrow morning at 0600. The changes I made this evening will be included when The Wappinger Nation Mother s Office official presents it to the Office of the Principle Chief of the Wappinger Nation, The Office of the First Vice Chief Wappinger Nation, Office of the Chief of Staff Wappinger Nation Inc., The Chancellor Office Wappinger Nation Inc. Institute of Future Research and Application. and The Commanding Officer 13th DRCS Battalion, 13th Composite Division, United States Marine Corps Reserve.

It is professionally written, concise, and thorough. Until I heard the music, I was going to recommend its acceptance without changes or reversions. As I spoke, all read the proposed order.

Their point in the schedule covering less of a workday and week of a full time Bootcamp and Military University is correct. It is also less of a workload we all carried during January of this year. I believe that our young girls can handle it, but I, Medical, Education, and Sociological professionals will keep a close eye on all Twenty-Four of them.

As everyone finished all were impressed. All agreed to except it. Alfred would pass it on to Timothy as the Brigade Commander with recommendations for acceptance. Timothy to MGen Michael Long Walk as the Division Commander with recommendations for acceptance. I am sure Michael will pass it on to HQMC and JCS with recommendations for acceptance.

This will set the Platoon, and the DRCS Battalion on a firm footing and set grounds for expansion. They even included the language that it would take a direct written order from the President to deploy the girls until they reach the age of Eighteen.
