Chapter 34

Monday 6 February 1430 Sampson

Secret Service Agent Lawrence Clark called me and said he was returning to MCAS Wolverine Field with an ETA of 1650. He was carrying a letter from the President to Currahee Nations, The Principle Chief of The Wappinger Nation. Requesting a Presidential Visit. Also, a personal from his Chief-of-Staff to Mrs. Ruth, The Wappinger Nation Mother. Service Agent Clark wished to speak with us at 1800 hours if possible.

I called Mrs. Ruth, and she agreed to meet him in our Wappinger Nation Inc. Executive Conference Room at 1800 hours. We would not involve Currahee Nations but arrange for the delivery of his letter after the meeting if called for.

She suggested that I, Arthur, and Wilber should greet the plane. As others had learned a suggestion from Mrs. Ruth is not a suggestion. I would inform Arthur, and Wilber.

At 1630 I arrived at the runway, just as the others arrived. We saw Secret Service Agent Lawrence Clark leave the plane. He said he was sent by the President s Chief of Staff to fix what some puffed up Bureaucrats created. The President wanted the visit and sent a letter from the President to Currahee Nations, The Principle Chief of The Wappinger Nation. Requesting a Presidential Visit. He would except our plan subject to Secret Service approval for security. Also sent to us was Two more Secret Service Agents to help with communications with the White House Chief of Staff s Office. His office, not any other, would make decisions about the trip.

We shook hands and I replied we have a 1600 meeting with Mrs. Ruth about the visit. Then added Make yourself pretty and learn to grovel. We both laughed.

Wilber and Yolanda s people directed the plane crew of the MCAS Wolverine Field procedures. Where the security to tie down area was, fuel requisition, the way to visiting aircrew housing and issued them a vehicle for their use.

Lawrence Clark

After receiving the friendly harassment I expected, Sampson asked if I was putting up the added agents in our facility or if he needed to find them housing. I replied I will find them a place. I will however need full access MCAS Wolverine Field and Wappinger Nation credential for them.

Sampson

Art, do we have time to get them full access MCAS Wolverine Field and Wappinger Nation credentials before the meeting with Mrs. Ruth? Continuing the friendly harassment, he replied do you think they can pass a basic security check? Then added yes, we can it would make life easier for us all but we better hurry.

1745, credentials issued we were seated. We all stood when Mrs. Ruth entered the room.

Mrs. Ruth

Thank-You gentlemen. Now Lawrence, you have a letter for Currahee Nations and one for me. May I have them please? Lawrence handed me both letters. Both were in White House Stationary envelopes with the Presidents to Currahee Nations labeled, personal from The Presidents of the United States Alfred E Newman. Mine said personal from The President of the United States Alfred E Newman s Chief of Staff Lawrence Vernon. I asked Lawrence if he knew the contents of either letter. He replied the intent of the Chief of Staff s letter but not the content. He had knowledge of the content of President of the United States Alfred E Newman s letter but again not the content. Thank-you I replied.

Opening my letter I saw it was an apology to The Wappinger Nation for the conduct of the White House Protocol Office and Wappinger Nation that it did not reflect the desires, planes, or attitude of this administration. Lawrence Vernon continued If the Protocol Office, as he believed they would, not arrive for the Tuesday 7 February 0900 meeting they would be fired. I was to dismiss them from MCAS Wolverine Field, Wappinger Nation as I saw fit.

I turned to Lawrence and asked him if members of the Protocol Office had travelled with him. No, he replied. I then asked, do you believe they will show up on time tomorrow for the meeting? Again, he said no. I continued, Arther, tomorrow when they do arrive you will have people meet them and detain them. When I am free, I will deal with them.
