Nobody's perfect, but I hope that between my Editor, and myself we catch the majority of the errors, typographical and otherwise that creep in. I must tell you of two massive mistakes. In 'per Ardua Ad Astra', I misspelled 'hangar', three times out of seventeen. The other whopper came about because of a seventy year old memory. In my youth, I was taken to see John Wayne in 'The Fighting Seabees'. Dredging up those distant memories, I thought that they had been part of the Marines, or at least used Marine ranks.
How wrong I was. Now I try to double check all checkable facts to give, as Gilbert put it, 'corroborative details, intended to give artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald an unconvincing narrative'.
