Scriptorius: Stories

A series of stories from the casebook of a private detective operating in the North of England during the Victorian era.

An eleven-part story relating an exchange of messages between a disaffected galactic explorer and an increasingly exasperated staff at home-planet mission control.

This is a collection of zany stories ranging from 300 to 1,600 words in length. The first one is preceded by an introduction to the Madazine staff.

'Man In Debt' is a novella-length piece in fourteen chapters. Largely in correspondence form, it concerns a battle involving a wily borrower, his lender and their two firms of lawyers. The principals move from hostility to quasi-friendliness. Their legal representatives go the opposite way, with farcical results.

The Node Bulletins comprise nine reports by the harassed leader of a very unusual mountaineering expedition.

A private detective agrees to help an old friend who is in trouble. Complications ensue.

This is a collection of twenty stories, some serious, some light-hearted, set in the Wild West. They are much shorter than my 'Sunset Stories', already posted and are stand-alone items.
