Lousy Start to a New Year!

Posted at Updated:

So far, this New Year has left a lot to be desired. I wound up getting sick, so the writing has slowed to a crawl. I just finished up a large project that had been languishing in the end stages of completion so I can return to some of the stuff that will eventually make it onto this site. However, just last night the same twisted Muse that wacked me over the head with Death and Love in Marjah hit me again. For some of my readers, that will be a good thing as it means I will be writing another story (in the planning stages as I write this) about Con and Maeve, with Shameera merely being a plot tool and not a very important part of the story. I am hoping this one will be a short, quick little story so I can get back to a couple of stories I have on hold about the Am'mortal and another that is a sort-of-but-not-really prequel to A Stranger in an Even Stranger Land.

I am also debating with myself over posting one of my longer, book-length pieces, with the side of me leaning towards doing so coming close to winning. If I do, I will probably begin posting chapters in the very near future with a schedule of something like a chapter a week. That will give me time to reread the chapters and do any editing that needs doing.

Also, the preliminary background work on a new Universe has almost been completed and I might begin writing stories about that one soon. I haven't decided yet whether to finish the background first or just start writing. We will see, i guess. The Muses usually get their way, so they might make the decisions for me.

Anyway, that is what I have been up to and why some of the things I had planned to have done by now have not gotten done. Look forward to something new in the next couple-few weeks. That's all for now.
